The 47-635 is a high-quality achromatic doublet lens, sourced from Edmund Optics, featuring a 25 mm diameter and an effective focal length (EFL) of 40 mm. This lens is specifically designed for the visible spectrum, covering wavelengths from 425 to 675 nm.
The lens is constructed from two types of glass: S-BAH11 from Ohara and N-SF10 from Schott. These materials are carefully selected to minimize chromatic aberration, a common issue in optical systems where different wavelengths of light are focused at different points. By combining these materials, the 47-635 provides sharp, clear images with minimal color fringing.
The lens geometry is also optimized for performance. It has a center thickness of 9.5 mm and an edge thickness of 8.54 mm. The radii of curvature for the three surfaces are r1 = 27.97 mm, r2 = -18.85 mm, and r3 = -152.94 mm. These parameters are carefully chosen to provide the best possible image quality.
