The 49-370 is a high-quality achromatic doublet lens, designed and manufactured by Edmund Optics. This lens, with a 25 mm diameter, is specifically engineered for use in the visible (VIS) and near-infrared (NIR) spectrum, spanning 400-1000nm.

The lens is constructed from two types of glass, N-BK7 and N-SF5, both from Schott. This combination is used to correct chromatic aberrations, ensuring sharp, clear images across the entire spectral range. The lens has an effective focal length (EFL) of 500mm, making it suitable for a variety of applications that require moderate to high magnification.

The geometry of the lens is carefully designed to optimize performance. The first surface has a radius of curvature (R1) of 290.71, while the second surface has an R2 of -232.07. The third surface, which is a plane, has an R3 of -750.52. The lens has a thickness of 5.13mm at the edge and 3mm at the center, with a central thickness of 2.5mm for the first surface.

The lens is coated with Edmund Optics' VIS-NIR coating (edm visnir0sp2002000) on both the front and back surfaces. This coating is designed to reduce reflection and increase transmission across the VIS-NIR spectrum, enhancing the overall performance of the lens.
