The PAC17AR.16 is a high-quality achromatic doublet lens, designed and manufactured by MKS/Newport. This lens is specifically engineered for use in the near-infrared and infrared spectrum, with a wavelength range of 750-1550nm. The lens features a plano-convex geometry, with a 25mm diameter and a focal length of 50mm, making it suitable for a wide range of optical applications.
The lens is composed of two materials, N-LAK22 and N-SF6, both from Schott. These materials are chosen for their excellent optical properties in the NIR-IR spectrum. The lens is coated with New AR-16e on both the front and back surfaces, which reduces reflection and increases transmission in the specified wavelength range.
The lens geometry is carefully designed to minimize chromatic aberration, a common issue in lens systems. The inner and outer radii are 0, and the lens has a center thickness of 12mm, with individual center thicknesses of 8mm and 4mm for the two components. The edge thickness is 8.94mm. The lens also features a curvature of 31.69mm for the first surface and -28.45mm and -161.05mm for the first and second surfaces of the second component, respectively.
