This 50 mm diameter optical window, sourced from Edmund Optics, is made of Germanium and features a thin design with a thickness of just 1 mm. The window boasts a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating on both the front and back surfaces, which not only enhances its durability but also reduces unwanted reflections, thanks to the 8-12 μm anti-reflection (BBAR) coating.
The Germanium material of the window is specifically chosen for its excellent transmission properties in the infrared region, with a center wavelength of 10600 nm. This makes it an ideal choice for applications that operate within this spectral range, such as infrared spectroscopy, thermal imaging, and other infrared-based technologies.
The window's flat design ensures excellent optical quality, minimizing optical aberrations and distortions. Its circular shape further adds to its versatility, making it suitable for a wide range of optical systems and setups.
